"Without Their Support, My Days Would Have Been Much Darker": Jess Runs 10K to Give Back

After being diagnosed with rare appendiceal cancer and receiving vital support from the Ella Dawson Foundation, Jess is now raising money to give back
For Jess, this was never just another charity run.
Jess was diagnosed with appendiceal cancer — a rare cancer of the appendix — and during what was an incredibly difficult period of her life, she found support in two organisations that would make a lasting difference: Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service and the Ella Dawson Foundation.
"Without their support, my days would have been much darker," Jess has said.
Now in a position to look back on that time, Jess felt compelled to do something meaningful. "I want to give back to those who helped me in my hour of need," she explained, "so I have decided to raise money by taking part in a sponsored 10K run."
And give back she has. Jess has so far raised an incredible £3,281 — 94% of her £3,500 goal — a testament to her determination and the generosity of everyone who has rallied behind her.
If you'd like to donate and help Jess reach her target, you can do so at gofund.me/e73dbe773.
Thank you, Jess, from everyone at the Ella Dawson Foundation. Your courage and generosity are truly inspiring. 🙏
