We are proud to share Rosie's Story: From Thyroid Cancer to the Royal Parks Half Marathon

Rosie speaks openly about her experience with the Ella Dawson Foundation - from the period shortly after her surgery for Papillary Thyroid Cancer through receiving clinical psychology support and exercise rehabilitation.
We’re excited and proud to share our 2026 film, Rosie’s Story, kindly produced by Kitto.
Rosie speaks openly about her experience with the Ella Dawson Foundation - from the period shortly after her surgery for Papillary Thyroid Cancer through receiving clinical psychology support and exercise rehabilitation. Rosie describes how life after treatment and returning to university brought some of the biggest challenges, and how having the right age-appropriate support helped her feel understood and rebuild her confidence and strength.
Rosie shares a significant milestone in her year as she took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon with Team Ella following our Move Well programme - her first ever half marathon just nine months after her diagnosis. Rosie raised a phenomenal amount to help provide this vital support to more young people affected by cancer in their late teens and twenties.
Every young person’s experience after cancer is different, and our support is tailored to each person - supporting them to live well, in the ways that reflect what truly matters to them. ![]()
