Exciting News! Adam Waugh Joins the Ella Dawson Foundation as Ambassador

We first met Adam in 2024 when he skippered our inaugural Sail Around Britain Charity Event.
Just over a year later, with only 7–8 years of sailing experience and no prior boatbuilding experience, 61-year-old Adam embarked on one of the most extraordinary human challenges imaginable: sailing 28,000 nautical miles solo around the world in his self-built 19ft boat, Little Wren, as part of the inaugural Mini Globe Race. This historic race is a first of its kind, boats of this size have never attempted a global circumnavigation before. This is huge!
With family experience of the effects of cancer, Adam chose to support the Ella Dawson Foundation, and challenged himself to raise a phenomenal £100,000 to provide vital emotional, physical, nutritional, and wellbeing support to young adults living with and beyond cancer. To date, he has already raised over £50,000, helping hundreds of young people through and beyond cancer.
With many highs and lows along the way, Adam and Little Wren have now successfully navigated three-quarters of the way around the world, having just arrived for a short stop in Durban, South Africa. The Mini Globe Race is scheduled to finish in Antigua in March 2026.
Thank you, Adam, for your incredible support and a warm welcome to the TeamElla family!
